I made a couple of lists of stepper motor controller circuits, many of them open source. Please comment on those lists. Is there some particular requirements you are looking for? Do you have any ideas for making these circuits even better?

My understanding is that a "3 axis stepper motor control circuit" can be replaced by 3 individual stepper motor controllers, and the people at PMinMO seem to prefer a "modular" system with 3 individual stepper motor controllers over a single "integrated" 3 axis stepper motor board.
